How to export your Feedly feeds to OPML
Sign in to Feedly in a web browser and open feedly.com/i/opml. Feedly downloads an OPML file listing every RSS feed you follow, grouped by your Feedly folders. The mobile apps can't export, and Boards, Read Later, AI Feeds and Reddit feeds aren't included.
Already have the file? Check it and import it.
Export your Feedly feeds step by step
- 1.
Open Feedly on the web
Use a desktop or laptop browser and sign in at feedly.com. The iPhone and Android apps have no export option.
- 2.
Go to the export link
While signed in, open feedly.com/i/opml. It's the export link Feedly gives in its own help center.
- 3.
Save the file
Your browser downloads an .opml file. If Feedly shows a download button instead, click it. The file is a plain list of your feeds, so it stays small even with hundreds of subscriptions.
- 4.
Check what's inside
Drop the file into the checker on this page to count your feeds and folders before you import it anywhere.
- 5.
Import it into your new reader
Almost every RSS reader accepts OPML. In deadsimpleRSS, the feeds you check here import as soon as you sign in with Google. You can also import a file any time from Settings.
What the file includes
- Every RSS and Atom feed you follow
- Each feed's name and address
- Your Feedly folders, which become categories in deadsimpleRSS
What stays behind in Feedly
- Boards and Read Later articles
- Feedly AI Feeds
- Reddit feeds
- Read and unread status, since OPML only lists subscriptions

If the export doesn't work
The link opens Feedly instead of downloading
You're probably signed out or on the mobile site. Sign in to feedly.com on a desktop browser, then open feedly.com/i/opml again.
My Reddit subscriptions are missing
Feedly leaves Reddit feeds out of the export. Add them back in deadsimpleRSS from Add Feed: choose Reddit and type the subreddit's name. YouTube channels and Twitter accounts work the same way.
Add Feed
Add an RSS feed, platform, or email newsletter.
I need my saved articles too
OPML only carries subscriptions. Feedly's help center suggests its Dropbox integration, or Zapier and IFTTT, for backing up Boards and Read Later.
Check your Feedly export
Choose the file you downloaded. It's read in your browser and nothing is uploaded unless you sign in and import it.

FAQ
Where is the OPML export in Feedly?
Open feedly.com/i/opml while signed in on the web. Feedly's help center points to this link and doesn't list a paid plan as a requirement. The mobile apps don't offer an export.
Does the Feedly export keep my folders?
Yes. Feeds are grouped by your Feedly folders in the file, and deadsimpleRSS turns each folder into a category when you import.
Will my read and unread status come with me?
No. OPML is a list of subscriptions, not reading history, so every reader starts fresh after an import.
What if some feeds fail after importing?
Sites move and shut down, and an old Feedly list often has a few dead feeds. deadsimpleRSS still adds them and keeps retrying, so you can remove the ones that never come back.
How many feeds can I import into deadsimpleRSS for free?
The free plan follows up to 100 feeds. If your file has more, everything still imports. Feeds past 100 wait and switch on when you become Dead Serious, which raises the limit to 1,000.
Is my OPML file private?
The checker on this page reads the file in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you sign in and import it. The file can include private feed addresses, so avoid posting it publicly.
